Save Energy and Money in Your Home

Welcome to Weatherization

What is Weatherization? Weatherization is the installation of energy-saving equipment that improves the efficiency of home heating and cooling. It is a partnership between You—the homeowner—and this project to reduce home heating bills.

Welcome to Weatherization

Benefits of Weatherization:

  • Save Energy
  • Save Money
  • Permanent weatherization measures
  • Receive up to $9,300 worth of energy improvements to your home
  • Free Infoshops to learn about energy and use it carefully
  • Increase home value

How the project works:

  • Step 1. Energy Audit
    • Home visit to check furnace, insulation, windows, and doors
    • Determine what types of improvements are needed in your home
    • Takes about three hours
  • Step 2. Installation
    • Home improvements installed at no cost to you
  • Step 3. Energy Infoshops
    • Participate in energy education workshops
    • Learn about energy efficiency and ways to save energy
  • Step 4. Routine Maintenance
    • Change furnace filters regularly
    • Maintain fuel supply. Your furnace will operate better if you always keep some fuel in the tank

Possible Home Improvements (Depending on the energy audit)

  • New High-Efficiency Furnace
  • New Energy-Efficient Windows
  • New Weather-Proof Doors
  • New Hot-Water Heater
  • New Insulation
  • New Weatherstripping

What you need to do:

  • Participate in energy ‘infoshops’
  • Observe equipment maintenance guidelines
  • Follow efficient energy use practices
  • Pay energy bills on time
  • Save money!
